We hiked the Lieserpfad as a family and wanted to take a break and stop by here. Unfortunately the mill was closed. We have taken a rest in front of the mill. After some time a car came up when we politely asked about the opening times of the mill, they just called us against the mill was closed and we are on private property and should leave the premises accordingly. I would like to note at this point that the Lieserpfad leads across the grounds of the mill and that the inn is listed in a number of Lieserpfad guides (effective advertising). It is better not to let the Lieserpfad continue running across the grounds of the Üdersdorfer Mühle, as the operators obviously have a problem with it.

The coffee ☕ was okay, but the service is anything but hospitable.

On our hike on the Eifelsteig we stopped here before the section to Manderscheid. The bread with honey from our own production and the self-smoked ham was the perfect strengthening! We can absolutely recommend a rest here!

Day of the Horse 2019

We were from 01.05. until the 04.05.2019 on the Eifelsteig from Müllenborn to the Kapellenhof behind Manderscheid on the way and were received very warmly on the Üdersdorfer mill by the landlady. The house is in a quiet location, rooms and bathroom are simply furnished and maintained. We slept very well here. The food is good, and is freshly cooked to the guest's request. The best we liked the dessert. Finally, a good and rich breakfast, what do you need / woman more? We can only recommend the Üdersdorfer Mühle to all hikers who can do without emails and WhatsApp.

Were there on 31.12.2018. Although it was New Year's Eve, we were greeted there very friendly and have also served a delicious cafe. Will stop there regularly.

A real place of happiness in the Eifel! While we ate delicious smoked trout, our dog rode with domestic dogs Toni across the grounds. In a nice chat with the landlady, there was one or the other Eifelgeist. We will be back 😃

Unfortunately not, as indicated on the homepage, in the afternoon "continuously" open: Sunday, 13th July was (late afternoon) closed ... Are there any good reasons for; but: why not give that on the homepage?

Very attractive restaurant on the Wabderweg. Courteous professional service, simple but good food with sometimes unexpected little highlights like panna cotta or fresh mocca cream. For hikers as well as for hikers. Especially nice are the many homemade specialties such as ham, honey, trout etc. The rooms are simple but comfortable, good to heat and a hot shower is always there.

Yesterday we had a wonderful hike on the Lieser path. As we walked past the Üdersdorfer mill on the way there, we wondered whether we should eat something there on the way back. Admittedly, from the outside the mill appears quite unspectacular and in some places not really nice. Nevertheless, it is in a very beautiful location. So now we passed there again on the way back from our hike, a little tired and hungry, and decided to give it a try. The beer garden in the middle of nature with a beautiful view of the Liesertal was too tempting. When we got into the yard we already suspected that it was already closed. But since there were a few people there who apparently belonged to the mill, I asked. The bill was not deceptive and it was already closed. But when I asked about another possibility to stop in the vicinity, the landlady offered us to prepare two meals anyway. We gratefully accepted this offer. We looked for a place and after a short time the landlady came with the card. So we could not only choose from one or two simple dishes, but - even though it was closed - we had the whole menu to choose from. Only the trout would no longer be possible, she said regretfully. Within a very short time we had our cool drinks and were asked about our selection. I decided on the Eifler-Schmarren with powdered sugar and applesauce, my friend for the Käsespätzle with fried onions. Immediately after the landlady had disappeared into the kitchen, I heard her working there and stirring dough. The food was served to us soon after. The Eifler-Schmarren was very tasty, a little heavy and sweet, but that's how Schmarren is. The applesauce was delicious. The portion was almost too big for me. I also tried the cheese spaetzle. There were spaetzle from the bag with a cheese sauce and fried onions from the pack. Not quite my cup of tea as a fan of homemade Allgäu cheese spaetzle. But it is an excursion restaurant and not a starred restaurant, in principle no problem for me if ready-made products are used. All in all, my friend liked them. I'm just very picky, because I myself cook passionately - and according to statements from third parties also very well. I am also a fan of original dishes. For me, cheese spaetzle are just homemade with grated, strong cheese that melts between the spaetzle, really delicious. Nobody can do anything for that. ;) All in all, I can only recommend the Üdersdorfer Mühle, great service, friendly service, tasty, simple food. In my opinion, you shouldn't make higher demands on a simple restaurant. What maybe one or the other lacks in atmosphere is made up for by the location in the beautiful landscape. I will definitely return there when the opportunity arises!

The culinary delight during the incorporation of a ham sandwich will be remembered forever. An unforgettable taste experience of which I'll tell my grandchildren!

Spacious clean but very simple rooms, good breakfast. Hopefully the dog won't sleep down the stairs because it gives off a strong scent.
